Science Partnerships Lead - Brazil

A geochemist focused on translating rigorous science into the operational reality of carbon dioxide removal at scale, with a technical specialty in evaluating and mapping feedstocks and rock powders for CDR deployments. Over the past four years in the CDR industry, Caro has worked across enhanced rock weathering and ocean alkalinity enhancement, leading field deployments, building science teams, and developing research partnerships with Brazilian institutions. Having been based in Europe for the past decade, she works across ERW research and industry communities in Brazil, Europe, and the United States.

Caro holds a Ph.D. in marine geochemistry and the global carbon cycle from Heidelberg University, along with an M.Sc. in Earth surface geochemistry and a B.Sc. in geology from the University of São Paulo. Fluent in English, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, Caro is based in Brazil with her husband and two children. She enjoys cooking for her friends and family, walking in nature, and knitting ugly scarves.
