About Us
About the Cascade Climate NetworkThe Cascade Climate Network is the regional network of Northwest youth united to end the climate crisis and build a sustainable, just, and prosperous future for all. The Network consists of students and youth from across Oregon and Washington who are actively working to address climate change in their bio-region, states and schools. The Cascade Climate Network was founded in October 2007 at a retreat on the flanks of Mt. Hood. Ten Northwest colleges and universities were represented at our foundational retreat; the Network is now active at nearly 20 campuses across Oregon and Washington (see map below). The Cascade Climate Network is guided by the Cascade Climate Declaration. The Declaration was collaboratively drafted by twenty Northwest youth at the Cascade Climate Network's foundational retreat in October 2007.The document emphasizes the need to address climate change in a clean, local, just, and ecologically sustainable manner, turning the climate crisis into a golden opportunity to build a sustainable, just, and prosperous future for all. The Declaration's preamble lays out our statement of purpose and committment, it's principles guide our organization, and our actions are aimed at implementing the immediate actions called for at the end of the Declaration.Through our efforts, we hope to form a more unified regional youth climate movement that both reinforces our separate efforts at our own schools and campuses, and achieves real progress in our states, the region, and the nation. *the Cascade Region refers to the states of Oregon and Washington in the Pacific Northwest The CCN is based off an "Electron" structure. In which there is the core nucleous and surrounding electrons. We do not believe in a hierarchy, but rather, a leadership team with shared values and strategic objectives that we can all work toward. With these shared values we have these positions.Network FacilitatorOR & WA coordinatorsOR & WA regional CoordinatorsPacific Northwest Campus CoordinatorsSee Contact us for coordinators' information
