    Campaigns

The Cascade Climate Network launched several different coordinated campaigns aimed at building a sustainable, just, and prosperous future at Cascade Power Shift 2008. These campaigns are guided by the Principles of the Cascade Climate Declaration and aimed at implementing the five Immediate Actions called for in the conclusion of the Declaration. They include efforts to:

    • green hard hatCreate new green jobs that help build stronger communities, save energy and money, and create new pathways out of poverty. Contact Nathan Jones (OR) or JP Kemmick (WA) for more or to get involved.
    • Rise to the Campus Climate Challenge and make our campuses climate leaders as well as centers that train and empower youth and community members for their role in a sustianable, just, and prosperous future. Contact Jesse Hough for more or to get involved.
    • Campus Climate Challenge logoFight false solutions - like liquefied natural gas and coal - that will block our path to a sustainable, just, and prosperous future and rise to the Transportation Challenge. Contact Monica Vaughan (LNG in OR), Camila Thorndike (Coal in WA), or Tara Burke (Transportation Challenge on campus) for more or to get involved.
    • Win climate victories in our state legislatures that will help Oregon and Washington rise to the climate challenge and ensure that our elected officials - at all levels of government - are committed to implement climate solutions. Contact Jenny Bedell-Stiles (OR) or Elisa Otter (WA) for more or to get involved.
